Movie Review: Sex and the City 2

I watched Sex and the City 2 on an airplane on my iPad. It was a rental from iTunes that I purchased.

About Sex and the City 2 Movie:

2010, R

Golden Globe winner Sarah Jessica Parker returns as everyone’s favorite sex columnist, Carrie Bradshaw, with her best friends Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Samantha (Kim Cattrall) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) to brave the roiling romantic waters of the city that never sleeps. This big-screen continuation of the hit HBO series finds Carrie considering marriage, Miranda considering divorce, and Samantha considering monogamy.

My Review of Sex and the City 2 Movie:

sex-in-the-city2-movie-review Stop, wait, don’t do it! I was warned that this movie was an over indulged-fest but I wouldn’t listen and wanted to see for myself. I loved the Sex and the City TV series for years while it was on late-night, after it came off of HBO and I loved the first movie so I thought, it couldn’t be that bad. Boy, was I wrong! This movie reminds me of movie stars that get too full of themselves and take themselves too seriously and once that happens they forget where they came from and it’s all about them and not about the viewer anymore.

I always loved the fashion in the Sex and the City series but this was way over the top. The “average” viewer, which is me, couldn’t even relate to the over-the-top fashion this movie and Charlotte screaming in horror because she daughter put chocolate on her $1,000 skirt and then crying in a closet was just too much. Who wears this kind of stuff to bake cookies with their children? It was just ridiculous. Samantha was too full of herself and that’s saying a lot. Overall the story-line was very poor and I found myself rolling my eyes quite a lot and hoping the plane ride would end soon.
