Use Words to Protect your Luggage with the WordLock Combinaton Luggage Lock

WordLock sent me a luggage lock to test out and here is my review.

The WordLock luggage lock is a lock that uses word combinations and not numbers. Sometimes remembering a word is easier than remembering a number combination. They say they are 10,000 word combinations you can make. I think you could also use random letters to make up a combination and not just a word so there might be more than 10,000 possibilities.

The WordLock lock comes in a blister pack with a small sheet of instructions. The instructions are easy to follow and they give you a diagram on the back and some possible word combinations you could use if you can’t think of a word yourself.

I found it easy to follow the instructions and create a word that I could remember. Having a luggage lock in fun colors is also a plus because let’s face it – we’re all individuals and sometimes a girl just needs a pink luggage lock to match her luggage.

The letters are easy to read because they are white on a black background and it has a limited lifetime warranty.

wordlock luggage lock review

The WordLock luggage lock measures 1-1/4″ wide so it is small enough to carry with you and it isn’t heavy. It comes in a variety of colors – black, red, silver, pink, and green – and is available at most stores including Walmart, Target, Kmart, ACE Hardware, True Value Hardware stores, Bed Bath and Beyond, and online at Wordlock.com, Target.com, and Amazon.com and sells for around $8.99.

It is water resistant and TSA approved. The paperwork doesn’t say why it is TSA approved, only that agents can inspect your luggage without using a bolt cutter to remove the lock. The only thing I can think of that might make it this way is the keylock at the bottom of the lock. It has number TSA002 and I am assuming that is standard key that most TSA agents carry to unlock locks for luggage inspection.
