Movie Review: The Back-Up Plan

I watched this movie tonight at home. It was a rental from my Netflix plan.

About The Back-Up Plan Movie:

2010, PG-13

When Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) tires of looking for Mr. Right, she decides to have a baby on her own. But on the day she’s artificially inseminated, she meets Stan (Alex O’Loughlin), who seems to be just who she’s been searching for all her life. Now, Zoe has to figure out how to make her two life’s dreams fit with each other. Alan Poul directs this hilarious, heartfelt tale of confusion, confession and romantic slapstick.

My Review of The Back-Up Plan Movie:

the-backup-plan-movie-reviewFriday night is movie night and we only watch romantic comedies or straight comedies because after a week of work all we want to do is laugh and unwind. I have always enjoyed Jennifer Lopez

‘ movies and thought this would be a good one to try. I have to say, I never heard of Alex O’Loughlin and even after watching the movie I can’t ever remember seeing him in anything I have ever watched before.

This movie has a good story line but at times they seem to throw too many things in that aren’t needed and make it too deep. Zoe has a chance meeting with Stan in a cab on the day she was artificially inseminated and by the end of the movie they are soul mates and he is the father of her twins. It’s a tiny too much of a stretch for me. I also didn’t think Jennifer and Alex had much chemistry together.

I found the movie entertaining but slightly boring a times. When you find yourself thinking about when you are going to be able to check your email you know the movie didn’t keep your interest enough.
