Tide Cold Water Detergent Test

Tide Cold Water detergent is specifically formulated to work well in cleaning your clothes when using cold water.  Using Tide Coldwater liquid detergent has additional benefits besides just getting outstanding clean clothes, because you are using cold water you save on energy consumption thus reducing your utility cost and conserving energy.

Like many others my age, my mother always washed whites in hot water and steadfast colors in warm water in an attempt to get them cleaner. With advancements in today’s technology and research has allowed Tide to formulate a liquid laundry detergent that works better in cold water than other past and present liquid detergents in warm water.

We ran a dual test to see exactly how well Tide Coldwater liquid laundry detergent would work.  We had a T-shirt that had dried mustard and ketchup stains on it and a sweater that had a few small stains, so we washed them using cold water and Tide Coldwater liquid laundry detergent.  We did not pre-treat the stains with any Tide Coldwater liquid laundry detergent or other stain remover.  Below are pictures showing the T-shirt and sweater before and after washing.  As you can see from the pictures, Tide Coldwater liquid laundry detergent totally removed the stains on the sweater, however, the T-shirt still has the mustard stain and the ketchup stain is half gone.

Tide Coldwater liquid laundry detergent gave us clean clothes having a fresh, but not overpowering scent while reducing our energy cost.  I am overall satisfied with Tide Coldwater’s ability to effectively clean and remove most stains using cost efficient cold water but I do think you still will need to pre-treat certain stains to get them completely out.

I have used other cheaper laundry detergents in the past to save money, but now we use Tide regularly because we have a High Efficiency Whirlpool washing machine now. I have been regularly using cold water to wash clothes in but haven’t used the Tide Coldwater formula until now. Using cold water also prevents colors from bleeding.
