“The Good Dinosaur” asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? It’s the story of a boy and his dog – only in our story, the boy is a dinosaur and the dog is a boy.
Our thoughts about Disney PIXAR’s “The Good Dinosaur”
We had the chance to preview “The Good Dinosaur” and thoroughly loved it. The storyline takes you by surprise and has a lot of twists and turns that you never see coming. There are a lot of “adult” moments in this children’s movie and you will want to watch it more than once. The movie is also a “feast for the eyes” because the animation is spectacular.
A word of caution for very young children. There are several semi-violent scenes of animals getting eaten that will frighten some children.
The Good Dinosaur is a very emotional movie and we found ourselves in tears at least 3 times. One time we were laughing hysterically and then next moment we were crying. It was quite a roller coaster ride but one we can’t wait to go on again and again.
We saw the movie in 3D and it made it even more special.
Bravo Disney•Pixar!
Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo (voice of Raymond Ochoa) makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.
“From the moment Arlo is born, he’s afraid of the world,” says director Peter Sohn. “He’s fun-loving and determined; he’s got a lot of fire when it comes to his desire to help his family. And his father is his biggest supporter. But Arlo is scared. His fear holds him back.
In a world where dinosaurs never became extinct and humans roam the wild, “The Good Dinosaur” features a simple, relatable story. “It’s really a coming-of-age story,” says Sohn.
“Spot is the opposite of Arlo,” continues Sohn. “He’s tenacious, brave and an animal in every sense of the word.
Directed by Peter Sohn and produced by Denise Ream (“Cars 2”), Disney•Pixar’s “The Good Dinosaur” opens in theaters on Nov. 25, 2015. For more information, check out movies.disney.com/the-good-dinosaur, like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and Instagram
