We visited the PetSmart store today to pick up some dry cat food when I spotted the Friskies Pull’n Play on the shelf. I had seen it so many times on Instagram that I wanted to check it out for myself.
The Friskies Pull N Play cost $4.99 and included the Friskie Pull N Play plastic food holder called the Wobbert toy, a bag of Friskies Party Mix Original 2.1 oz, and a package of Friskies Pull N Play Chicken & Cheese Tender Strings.
The Friskies Pull N Play Wobbert kitty cat toy is made out of thick plastic and it is weighed on the bottom. The top screws off and you put the treats inside. There is a hole on the side for them to come out. The cat’s ears also each have a hole in them. You “thread” Friskies Tender Strings in a hole in one ear and out the other hole.
Now to the test. When I put it down on the floor, one of the cats was scared of it but immediately his nose picked up the scent of food! He tore into the Friskies Tender String and gobbled it up in a second. I waited to see if he would figure out where the treats were but he didn’t even notice them. He meowed for another tender string so I threaded another one in the top and off he went again, devouring the second tender strip. Once again, he never even bothered to look for the treats in the bottom.
My other cat who was watching, never went near it after the first cat ate all of the tender strips. The Friskies Pull N Play unit sits on the floor now with no cat even interested. The idea is that the cat will smell the treats inside of the plastic Wobbert cat toy and roll it around until they are presented with a treat. Maybe my cats are lazy, spoiled, or spoiled and lazy or both – yes, they are – but they didn’t figure out that treats would come out. Maybe I will leave it on the floor and see if they figure it out tomorrow when I don’t give them treats. Friskies Treats are their favorite and they won’t eat any other treat so they just might figure it out.
I think a kitten or a young cat might play with it but my older cats didn’t. They did love the tender strings so it wasn’t a total fail. The whole kit didn’t cost much more than the treats and the tender strings so I didn’t feel like I wasted much money and it was fun to try out something new to see how it worked.
Have you purchased a Friskies Pull N Play? What did your cats think of it?
