Today’s Prom Fashion Trends from Macy’s

Prom has always been a kind of rite of passage for teenagers who are getting ready to graduate high school and step into the adult world. It is their celebration of the transition.

Today’s prom is much more elegant than in years past. I recently attended a prom fashion show at Macy’s and saw firsthand just what young women are wearing to today’s prom. Today there are so many to choose from from rocker to flirty, bold to subtle, short, long, and somewhere in between. All of the dresses I saw had a lot of style and details.

Dresses come in a variety of styles and colors are much more vibrant than I remember. A girl may dresses up in something casual like a gold sequin dress with a jean jacket over top or go for full glamor with a beaded full-length sequined gown.

What I noticed is that the shoes and accessories give today’s prom dress the finishing touch it needs. Today’s prom dresses also have a lot of details with sequins, beads, and buckles.

To finish off the prom assemble add a sparkly purse and matching jewelry. Large, chunky jewelry is definitely in for today’s prom fashion.

Prom shoes are mostly very high heel pumps with up to 4″ heels on them. These shoes are made to impress and bring out the best in the prom dress. A gal should think of bringing another pair of shoes if she is going to dance the night away

  2. LOVE the shoes! I wish I had every pair here! Not sure I could walk in them…but who cares. Just strike a pose, and look fierce!
