5 Important Halloween Safety Tips

Are you Trick Or Treating this year? Here are some safety tips you should read to make sure you have a fun Halloween night.

Make yourself noticeable in the dark!

It’s fun to dress up in a costume but if cars can’t see you it could be dangerous. Carry a flashlight, use glow sticks, wear reflective tape, or use flashing Halloween lights to make sure everyone sees you and your little ones.

Label it!

Write your child’s name and phone number somewhere on the costume, preferably the outside, in case you get separated from them.

Don’t Eat that Candy!

Tell your kids to bring home all treats and candy and not to eat them right away so you can inspect the candy. Of course, if you are going with them trick or treating this might not be a problem.

Stay Connected

Make sure you and your child have a fully charge cell phone or walkie talkies so you can stay connected at all times.

Stay with a Group

If at all possible stay with a group and even consider going to city-side Trick or Treat events such as those found in malls. Try to stay away from houses and neighbors that have no lights on.

Ninja Halloween Costume from Oriental Trading Company

Paisley decided she wanted to be a Ninja and have mom make the costume look like Zane from the LEGO movie. Zane is the white ninja and a main character in The LEGO Ninjago Movie. We found a nice, white Ninja costume on the Oriental Trading Company’s website that worked just fine.

Who says girls can’t be Ninjas? Paisley is 7 and doesn’t care. She just likes Zane and a Ninja costume is what she wanted to wear. Halloween is a time of year to be anything you want to be.

We received a complimentary Ninja Costume from Oriental Trading Company. Oriental Trading Company has all kinds of unique costumes for women, men, boys, girls, babies, toddlers, teens, couples and even groups.

The Ninja costume comes with a long top that has a mock belt sewn in at the waistline and faux leather embellishments, pants, fingerless gloves, and a hood. On the Oriental Trading website it is called a G.I. Joe Storm Shadow Halloween Costume but Paisley thought it looked like Zane so there you have it. Since it was all white it will be easy to add embellishments of our own to make it look more like the Zane character.

Ninja Halloween Costume from Oriental Trading Company

The Ninja costume is made from a knit (Polyester) fabric. It is kind of thin so the kids may want to wear something underneath for Trick Or Treating. The pants are like pajama pants with elastic around the waist. We got a size 7 and it fit almost perfect. The pants were a bit too long but it was easy enough to take them up a bit.

Ninja Halloween Costume from Oriental Trading Company

The hood pulls over the head and has Velcro on the back to keep it secure. The fabric that covers the nose and mouth is thinner so it’s easy to breath through it. We had to wash it and did so by hand and found that it was easy to clean.

Ninja Halloween Costume from Oriental Trading Company

The sleeves were a bit long as you can see from the picture but they cover the fingerless gloves so maybe they are supposed to be longer. The sleeves are made from a cotton fabric with a raised pattern. If you look at the picture of the costume on the Oriental Trading website it makes the top look like it is made out of a thicker fabric than the pants but it is really made out of the same knit Polyester fabric as the pants.

Ninja Halloween Costume from Oriental Trading Company

We embellished Paisley’s fabric with silver and blue moon and star tattoos. She is super happy with her costume and can’t wait to add a sword and some extras to transform into Zane for Halloween night.
