Stop and Shop sent us a variety of their new HoneyCrisp Apple items to try out. These new items are in all Stop and Shop stores now for a limited time. Stop & Shop’s Apple Limited Time Originals can be found throughout the store including in dairy, bakery, deli, floral, prepared foods, household and general merchandise. There are 30 HoneyCrisp Limited items in all.

Simple Noodle Broth Bowl Recipe

Last week we went to Art night at the school and the Book Fair was going on in the library. We bought the Campbell’s Simple 1-2-3 Spiral Bound Cookbook. This cookbook has 125 recipes for people who don’t have a lot of time.

So many times I need dinner in a flash and can’t figure out what to make so I end up making boring old chicken for the 100th time. What I love about this Campbell’s cookbook is that it shows you the finished recipe and then the four main ingredients you need to make it. Most of the ingredients I usually have in the cupboard. That is also another problem with being creative for dinner – no ingredients on hand.

We love noodle bowls and broth bowls so this one was a no-brainer to try. It came out perfect the first time and will be a regular at our dinner table now.

Broth Bowl Ingredients

Make 8 servings

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes

4 t cornstarch
2 T water
1 T sesame oil
8 cups chicken broth
3 T soy sauce
2 eggs, beaten
1 lb thin spaghetti, cooked and drained
1/4 lb sliced cooked ham, cut into 2″ long strips
4 medium green onions (scallions), chopped

Directions:

Stir the cornstarch, water and sesame oil in a small bowl until the mixture is smooth.

Heat the broth and soy sauce in a 3-quart saucepan over medium heat to a boil. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the broth in the saucepan. Cook and stir until the mixture boils and thickens.

Reduce the heat to low. Gradually stir the eggs into the saucepan. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Divide the spaghetti, ham and green onions among 8 serving bowls.

Spoon about 1 cup of broth mixture into each bowl and serve immediately.
