Plug it in, fill it with water, turn it on and it works! That’s about all I can say because we have had the Idylis Humidifier for about a month now and have had zero problems with it. It is very quiet. It did take me one night to get used to it but that is no different than any other humidifier we have had in the past. Anything that disrupts your sleep is going to take time getting used to.
This model is designed for small to medium rooms. The physical size is 10″ wide x 15″ tall x 8″ deep. This Idylis Tabletop Humidifier is designed to cover 450 feet. We use it just in our master bedroom, which is about 15 x 20 (300 square feet) and it works great. It is a 2.5 gallon output but I believe that means the mist it puts out in the room, not the amount of water it takes in. This humidifier only hold one gallon of water.
The tank holds one gallon of water so we keep an empty gallon water jug in the kitchen to refill it with. We don’t use distilled water but our house has a water filter so you might want to get your water from the store. The reason being is that you could get buildup in the tank and electronics if the water isn’t filtered.
It does require filling once or even twice a day but any humidifier is going to need to be refilled that much, depending on how dry the air is in the room. We live in New England and it gets super dry in the winter.
When it needs to be refilled it will beep and automatically shut off which is convenient. It will also show a red indicator on the display.
The knobs next to the LED display either turn or push in and turn to make it easy to set the level. The bright blue lights on the display show you the mist level. It is made out of hard plastic and is very sturdy. It doesn’t require any filters which is a huge plus and it also saves you lots of money.
The front has a built-in handle that makes it easy to pick up and move around (shown in the picture just above the Idylis label)
There is no need to remove the tank to fill it. You open the door on the top and unscrew the stopper and pour the water in. You don’t even need to turn it off to fill it. Because the tank is see-through you can keep an eye on the water level or just wait until it beeps to let you know it needs to be refilled.
The Idylis Humidifier has several speeds and levels of moisture it puts in the air. I crank on the highest level. A “white” cool mist will come out of the top so you will see it in the air.
We elevate our humidifier on a stool and out in the middle of the floor to keep it away from walls and furniture. It helps to direct the mist where you want it too. If I want it directly over the bed I just turn the stool around. I would never put any humidifier on the floor because if it leaks it would be on the floor or dresser and the mist really doesn’t have anywhere to go because it is too low. By elevating the humidifier it helps it work better overall. If you don’t have a stool use a chair. If you put it on your dresser, put a towel underneath and turn the humidifier so the mist goes out in the room and not towards your wall or mirror.
We haven’t had this Idylis Humidifier leak even once. If you have leaking it could be that you don’t have it elevated and that is probably why we never had an issue with it. If it doesn’t stop leaking take it back for a replacement.
So far we haven’t had to clean it but it doesn’t look like it would be too hard. I highly suggest the Idylis Humidifier.
We purchased our Idylis Ultrasonic Tabletop Humidifier at Lowes for around $69.98.
Disclaimer: we purchased this Idylis Humidifier with our own money and all opinions are purely my own. Your experience might be slightly different than mine.

Hi. I have this exact humidifier. We have used it the past couple of winters to help with my asthmatic daughter. Just pulled it back out last night for the first time this year, and after I filled it, it still gives the “add water” signal. I washed everything really well, but I can’t figure out how to fix it. It worked great when I put it up last year, and now I’m looking for help! Any suggestions? Thanks so much…tahkhumphries@yahoo.com

Make sure it is level, my did this until I releveled the table it was sitting on by placing a small book/magazine under one side.

Mine did the same thing. I wiped off the small metal sensor on the tank bottom and the housing it sits in (in the unit itself) and it recognized the full tank.

I’m looking for a humidifier for my daughter bedroom in this winter. Someday use in living room daytime but it’s different room size, daughter bedroom is 130 sq ft and living room is around 300 sq ft. Can it adjust volume of moisture to suit room size. Does it has built-in humidity meter?

Perhaps you should have waited until the unit needed cleaning before giving this Idylis Tabletop Sonic Humidifier such a positive review. The removable moisture duct comes off very easy to clean. Getting the scum that forms inside it is quite another thing. There are angles and baffles molded into the plastic duct making it near impossible to reach with a brush or other cleaning tool. Idylis does list a detergent or cleaner to use. I may have minerals in my water or something causing this scum, but I’m sure this is not uncommon. I have resorted to using bleach, which I’m sure will damage the plastic over time. Otherwise, I love everything else about it.

Thanks for your suggestion Kevin. I haven’t had to clean mine yet. I don’t use it everyday. I think a lot of humidifiers have those hard to reach areas that make them a bear to clean

Worked great for the 1st month, now constantly gives the “add water” warning. Cleaned throughly, even disassembled the water level indicator & cleaned all surfaces, re leveled. Still thinks its empty. Must have got a lemon, because this one is junk.

My humidifier say’s it’s on stand-by, it has been over 24 hours and it still won’t turn back on. I have unplugged it and tried everything I could think of. Any suggestions?

what if the stand-by light comes on and shuts down the humidifier? any suggestions? I was given this and have no paperwork.. Thanks

It could be out of water or maybe it needs to be cleaned.

Every few days mine will leak water all over the floor. Then after refilling it there are no problems. This started after 2 years of use without issue. I would not recommend it.

Same here. If it quits misting, the basin will begin to overflow the basin until the entire tank empties onto the floor. Usually cleaning and brushing the diaphragm and refilling will start it misting again. I have left it with water in the tank and turned off. Then just out of nowhere the basin starts overfilling and spills out onto the floor. I can’t figure out how the water level in the basin is controlled, and what goes wrong when it overflows.

Obviously needs adjusting, I know water in tank is not filling up the bottom …springs are sometimes stuck when I check them but don’t know how to lubricate them, maybe Vaseline I’m sure someone at factory could tell me how to adjust so it will fill up the bottom?????
